New Patterson Police Services’ Chief of Police Announced
Casey Hill to serve as the next Chief of Police
Patterson, Calif. October 15, 2024 – The City of Patterson is pleased to announce the appointment of Casey Hill as Patterson Police Services’ next Chief of Police. The City Council officially appointed Casey Hill at the October 15th City Council meeting. Chief Hill was sworn in and honored with a small reception attended by City officials and community members.
"I am deeply honored to return to Patterson as the new Chief of Police," said Chief Casey Hill. "Throughout my career, my focus has always been on serving and helping others. It is a privilege to continue my passion in this leadership role and I look forward to both the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. The Patterson deserves a safe and thriving community, and I am committed to ensuring that we work together to achieve that vision."
Hired in 2005, Chief Hill has 20 years of experience with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. Hill’s career is marked with strong community engagement, starting as a Community Resource Deputy from 2006 to 2011, serving various communities including Salida and West and South Modesto, Westley, and Grayson. In 2011, Hill was appointed as the School Resource Officer for the Patterson Joint Unified School District from 2011 to 2015, further solidifying his connection to the Patterson community.
Hill’s leadership experience also includes roles as a Detective, Recruit Training Officer at the Stanislaus County Sheriff Regional Training Division, and, since 2021, overseeing the Regional Training Division as a Lieutenant.
Chief Hill will officially begin his tenure as Chief of Police beginning October 15, 2024. Over the next few days, the current Chief of Police, Joshua Clayton, will work closely with Hill to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities. Chief Hill will assume full duties of the position on October 19, 2024, marking the beginning of his leadership and commitment to the safety and well-being of the Patterson community.
