On Sunday, July 14, 2024, Caltrans will install stop signs on northbound and southbound SR-33 to help improve traffic safety and reduce the potential for broadside collisions at the intersection.
During the installation, the intersection and roads leading to the intersection will be closed from approximately 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The closures are as follows:
- Full closure of State Route 33 between Las Palmas Avenue and Poppy Avenue
- Southbound SR-33 closed between M Street and Las Palmas
- Full closure of Sperry Avenue between Third Street and Orange Avenue
- Sperry Avenue open to local traffic only between Ward Avenue and Third Street
Commercial vehicles are required to take the following detour:
- From northbound SR-33: Right on Ward Avenue → Left on Sycamore Avenue → Left on Las Palmas → Right on SR-33
- From Southbound SR-33: Right on M Street → Left on Ward Avenue → Left on Marshall Road → Right on SR-33
